The Student Discount

Shopping

Financially, being a student isn’t all that great. But with your trusty student card on hand shopping just got a whole load easier and cheaper. So which places so generously aid students in their financial plights and how do you prove that you are in fact a poor student? Don’t worry, we’ve done all the research so you don’t have to, check it out below…

Getting your discount

Most places will offer discounts when you show your university student card (which you get when you register) but there are some that require an NUS card or UNiDAYS verification. NUS cards are really easy to apply for, you just enter your info online and the card will be sent to your Student Union (or school office if you are in sixth form) so go apply for one here. One downside is a 3 year card costs £32 but with all those savings it’s definitely worth it.

It’s pretty much the same with UNiDAYS except you don’t need a card and it’s free! You simply just verify your account by logging into your university portal, download the app and hey presto, your student status is verified. So go get it here.

Using your discount

So you’re verified and you’ve got your trusty student card to hand, what now? It’s time to go shopping for that perfect fresher’s week outfit…
